Lindström adheres to several recognized principles and certified systems of operation.
In 1991 Lindström signed the ICC Business Charter for Sustainable Development. We are committed to the principles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the Convention on the Rights of the Child by the United Nations, and the ILO Declaration on Fundamental Rights and Principles at Work.
Lindström’s operations and management are guided by our system of operation, which has been awarded the ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certificates, and which is followed in all our units of operation and audited on a regular basis. Lindström requires that its suppliers, including their subcontractors, act in accordance with the Code of Conduct. The activities of the personnel are guided by separate ethical guidelines that, among other things, prohibit corruption and require that all employees comply with relevant laws and decrees without compromise. Hygiene and microbiological cleanliness of laundry work are governed by the EN-SFS 14065 hygiene standard. The Swan label, which is highly esteemed in the Nordic countries, sets strict criteria for the environmental impacts of operations.
When choosing textile suppliers, Lindström favours companies that pay attention to the environmental impact of their production and try to meet the requirements for environmental labels for textiles. The roll towel material as well as more than 90 per cent of all workwear fabrics and hotel textiles has been granted the Öko-Tex 100 label, or they fulfil similar requirements concerning health and safety. In hotel textiles, Lindström prefers EU Ecolabel.
