Why did you choose to apply for Lindström’s management trainee programme?

”After graduation I worked as a logistics planner for a year and felt like I needed some change. Lindström appealed to me as an international and fast-growing company. I wanted new opportunities in my career and saw plenty of them at Lindström.”

What were your expectations for the programme?

”I became interested in the idea of seeing new places and functions. As for sales, I had hardly any previous experience and was eager to learn more. Besides the international aspects, I wanted to learn more about project work.”

Could you tell us about your journey at Lindström so far?

“I spent the first 3 months in Oulu (a city in Northern Finland) and got acquainted in delivery and laundry services. After that I worked in Lahti (a city about 100km north-east of Helsinki) where I had the chance to develop my knowledge of customer service and sales.

I did my international training period in Budapest, Hungary where I spent 5 months concentrating mainly on market research and a development project in logistics.

At the moment I work as a product manager an am closely involved in international project work. I find this position very interesting and challenging at the same time.”

What is your educational background? Do you feel that you have been able to use your knowledge and skills during the trainee programme and after?

“I have a master’s degree from Turku School of Economics. I had International Business as my major and Accounting and Information Systems Science as my minors. I feel that I have been able to utilize the things I have studied – or rather the competences I have gained from academic studies that have prepared me for working life. As part of the trainee programme, I also attended a Lindström Management Training course and I feel that my university studies formed an excellent basis for this course.”

What was your work experience before joining Lindström?

“I have had summer jobs from assembly work to accounting. I also worked as a buyer for one year when I took a year off from my studies. After graduation I worked as a logistics planner for one year.”

What are your career goals?

“I am happy with my current work at Lindström. As for my future plans, I constantly want to develop into more demanding tasks and also aim for a supervisor role.”
